The Bid Process

The selection process for host countries and cities begins soon.  Preferred locations are those natural hub countries and cities which have excellent communications, world-class airport hubs, a wide range of established venues for events and suitable accommodation options for participants, visitors and  media at all price points.

Selection Criteria

We seek host cities which are known as being hospitable and safe, with many embassies and institutions, excellent visa and arrival services, a high number of direct flights. Deep experience of hosting international events with an existing infrastructure of skills and services are important.  Other MUSTS are stable power, high-speed internet, public transport networks, excellent emergency services, low likelihood of extreme weather events and the ability to generate volunteers in significant numbers. Having a stable, supportive national leadership with a significant budget available to help contribute to a successful Games are also important considerations.

Experience

Extensive experience in hosting international exhibitions, conferences, sporting and cultural events and encouragement of free speech and reporting are vital to our mission.  And it helps, naturally, if the city is one that is viewed as a popular, low-risk, convenient place to visit, within easy reach of a large percentage of the global population and time-zones which suit viewership in many parts of the world. Countries such as the Netherlands, UAE, UK and Singapore are likely to meet many of these criteria but there will be others too.
