Imagine a new Games, and Olympics For Humanity that in time may grow just as big as the Olympic Games in size and viewership, but be bigger in purpose, legacy and global impact.
The Transformation Games are a new engine for changing our global society. They’re intended to work in parallel with current international economic and political systems, establishing a non-ideological and non-political framework.
The strategy is to use soft power, enabling a social movement and series of events to transform society as we transition from the old era to the new.
What we’re creating is a framework and inspiration for global action in different areas, that will attract millennials and young people as well as those of all ages from every region, every business sector and faith.
The vision is to help bring about a wake-up call to the citizens of the planet, to help them understand how the world came to be as it is, what’s gone right and what’s gone wrong. The aim is to help to co-create a new story, enabling citizens young and old to find, accept and believe in a new unifying story that will be lived into being, providing a pathway to the future.
Our role model and framework is the proven structure of The Olympic Games movement and the other successful Games that followed it, like The Paralympics and The Special Olympics. These have proved to be game changers in addressing challenges and changing minds on a global scale.
They have become of lasting value, creating positive ripples that have spread right across the world. Lord Coe describes The Paralympics 2012 and the impact of social engineering vividly in the video opposite.
Great teams and competitions lie at the heart of successful Games. Like the Olympics, competitive teams from different countries will be invited to compete at TTG. Unlike the Olympics, each team’s purpose will be to use their intellect, energy, passion and creativity to solve global problems and challenges, as described in the X Prize video opposite.
Teams and audiences will be attracted by a combination of incentive cash prizes, medals, glory, global recognition, and impact investment. That – together with a scale and quality of event that global media will want to exploit and national pride will wish to support.
The tactical plan is to inspire communities, companies, universities, schools, families and individuals to feel positive about the future and to inspire themselves about getting involved as participants and viewers, using engagement and entertainment as part of the mix.
The supporting aim is to lift the global mood, morale and spirit of people around the world – especially now. By demonstrating achievements, celebrating progress and channeling the energies of protest into the synergy of solutions, The Transformation Games will show that tackling serious challenges can be rewarding, adventurous and fun.
The impact and excitement of ISEF, an international schools science event, is captured in the trailer opposite, demonstrating that it is not only sport that can generate exhilaration, glory and joy – while producing solutions.
Our positioning is inclusive and democratic Engagement is key. A structured blend of bottom-up and top-down activation will engage schools, higher education, progressive companies, cities and communities.
Crowdsourcing, brainstorming and gamification will help surface the best practical ideas to address the challenges and targets that lie within the 17 Global Goals.
Collaboration and partnership is a key part of our approach. In line with Goal 17 – Partnership for the Goals – the TTG team will act as an accelerator, aggregator and connector engaging third parties to bring their experience, know-how and connections to undertake key missions or manage components of the Games.
Clarion calls to global action such as those of Greta Thunberg deserve positive responses. TTG aims to help refocus, re-energise and re-motivate the world to work together in harmony to save this beautiful planet because “there is no Planet B.”
Our focus is upon encouraging the best ideas, providing a robust and reliable framework for a global ‘coming together,’ establishing a new clearing house for the future. A gathering place of good opportunities, great people and organisations, buzzing with ideas and solutions looking for impact investment. Linking up the means and sufficient resources to get things done.
