Our role at TTG is to set up the framework, to bring the right parties together, to get the venues agreed, see the timetables are set, engage the best possible team and ensure reliable specialists are aboard in key roles.
It is also to make sure the governance and oversight role of the foundation is in place, that finance is raised and the right initial donors, corporate partners and sponsors are contacted.
To play this role effectively, the TTG team supported by its board and committees, acts as an Accelerator, Aggregator and Connector. And, as when completing a jigsaw puzzle, we are gradually piecing together the main elements needed to achieve success and building a culture of energy, integrity and innovation.
Through the Competitions and Other Components of each Games and the work that is ongoing between them, TTG will be spreading stories and examples of success that are capable of replication and scaling up, to address broadly similar needs, from one city or country to another. Capturing examples of successful progress on Targets and Goals, templates, reports, examples, data where possible to multiply the impact. This important role depends upon culture as much as technology.
TTG can become an important assembler and meeting place for Change Agents and Change Makers, experts and communities building up an ecosystem of organisations, people, specialists who can contribute to each others efforts and learn from each other. Many in the development community complain of the 'silo syndrome', the tendency not to share research, connections, stories of success and failure. Just as in networking, the best practicioners know that generosity with information and introductions begets reciprocal help and benefits each other. This must be the mindset of all, so that collaboration and partnership become the new normal in how organisations move forward.
helping those with great ideas, products, services or know-how to find the backing, investment, funding they need. And/or giving them a platform to meet an agent, mentor, distributor or more clients. In part this will be achieved through the Competitions and exposure participants receive. Partly it will be achieved by creating The Games which will offer multiple opportunities to enable contacts and connections to be made. And partly it will be enabled by a blend of publicising stories and achievements and by gradually becoming a databank of knowledge and experience and expertise on which parties and members can draw.
